The
association was formed in 1979, its primary function being to Create
a Code of Practice for the industry.
With
the advent of LOLER and the repeal of Construction (Lifting Operations)
Regulations in 1998, the BSI formulated a working group, of which
ALLMI and the HSE are members, the purpose of the group being to
redraft BS7121 part 2 (Inspection Testing and Examination), to update
its recommendations, taking into account the requirements of LOLER. |
| In
addition to its representation on MHE3, the British Standards Crane
Committee, ALLMI is also represented on TC147/WGP8, the CEN committee
responsible for creating the European Loader Crane Standard, EN
12999, which is due to be published later this year.
Following on from the European Standard, ALLMI is now represented
on ISO/TC96/SC6WG, the International Committee responsible for what
effectively will become the global standard for loader cranes.
ALLMI
Training Limited is a dedicated training company set up to meet
with all the requirements of BS ISO 15513 (Cranes-competancy requirements
for crane drivers, slingers, signallers and assessors) - first published
in 2000. |
